Alexandra Raisman
Aly Raisman, an Olympic gold medalist gymnast was the one who led America to victory in both 2012 and 2016. U.S. to victory in both 2012 as well as in the year 2016. Six of her Olympic gold medals are part of a record-breaking total. Additionally, she was one of the two World Champion teams. She is a native of Needham, Massachusetts, Aly's passion for sports can be traced back to the "mommy and me" gymnastics class that she attended as a baby of 18 months. Aly is an inspirational leader both on and off the floor, and a fierce champion of body positivity. This was evident recently as she came out in support of Larry Nassar in his sentencing trial. Aly Raisman, born in 1994, took up gymnastics when she was when she was a child. She was instrumental in helping to lead the U.S. team to win the 2011 World Championships. She won two medals in 2012 at the London Summer Olympics, one to the team and one in the floor exercise. Raisman was back at the Olympics twice in Rio in 2016, winning two silver medals. One for each of the all-around as well as floor exercises, and one in the gymnastics women's competition. Raisman came to a shocking conclusion in 2017. She had been assaulted sexually at the hands of former team physician Larry Nassar. In the next year, Raisman sued USA Gymnastics.
