Lucy Lawless, a New Zealander, is a singer and actress who is a well-known name within the entertainment industry. The most notable of her work are the notable roles she played in various popular television and film series including Xena Warrior Princess and Spartacus Blood and Sand. The most well-known of her roles is her portrayal of Xena who she played during her entire career in the role of an actress. Lucy was initially intended for Vanessa Angel. She was in a position to not make it for the shoot because of health issues. Lucy's performance as Xena was successful enough that a spin-off show was created which was launched in the month of September, 1995. After the spin-off's release, the show suffered another setback in its ratings as well as a cultural impact which made the show be on for 6 seasons. It also helped boost Lucy's recognition as an actor. Alongside being recognized by her fans as Xena, Lucy is recognized for her role as Diane Lewis Swanson from NBC's hit comedy Parks and Recreation where she was on the show from 2012 until 2015.
