Maureen Denise McCormick is the sole child to Richard McCormick. She was born on August 5th of 1956, in Woodland Hills. Her father taught at school, while her mother stayed at home. Michael, Dennis and Kevin are three of her older brothers. McCormick is always a lover of dancing, singing and putting on puppet shows. When she was just 6years old, she took home an award called Baby Miss San Fernando Valley. The Jack Wormser Agency then contacted McCormick and asked if she would like to enter the business of show production. Her first major role came in 1964, when she starred in an advertisement for Mattel's newly released doll "Baby Pattaburp." The following year, she starred in another commercial for Mattel's "Chatty Cathy" doll, and soon was cast in the play"Wind It Up and It Breaks, which was staged at the Playhouse in La Jolla Playhouse. "The Brady Bunch' In 1969, McCormick was chosen from an audience of 1200 kids who auditioned to play the eldest of three towheaded daughters in the brand new TV sitcom The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson and Robert Reed as newlyweds and an unintended family. The run of five seasons of the show proved to be a huge successful one. In her book Here's the Story: How I Survived Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice which was published in 2008, McCormick disclosed that during the fifth season of the show, she was close to losing her virginity to her screen twin brother and co-star Barry Williams. She was just 16 when she was in the scene; Barry was just 19. This could have happened as she explained. "But the timing for us was never just right."
